Chris Hoffman

Consultant, Ecopsychologist, Poet

As a consultant Chris has facilitated human development in a variety of business, educational, and therapeutic settings, including 23 years as a senior organizational development consultant for a Fortune 500 energy utility company. Chris consults on the interpersonal aspects of doing business: making boards and teams more effective, building alignment for positive change, resolving difficult issues, and coaching leaders for success.  He specializes in organizations working for a sustainable future.  He is a licensed professional counselor.

Chris has taught ecopsychology at Naropa University and has delivered many workshops and presentations on applied psychology.  Chris is the author of The Hoop and the Tree: A Compass for Finding a Deeper Relationship with All Life, a work on ecopsychology and spirituality which The Bloomsbury Review called "therapeutic, enlightening, and a joy to read."

Chris’s poetry publication credits include two books (Cairns and Realization Point) and publication in journals including Appalachia, The Christian Science Monitor, EarthLight, and Sea-Kayaker, among others, and in anthologies including The Soul Unearthed and EarthLight: Spiritual Wisdom for an Ecological Age. He enjoys performing his work both solo and in jazz and dance collaborations.   The world-beat band Monkey Siren has recorded Chris’ lyrics on two CD’s.

Chris is a long-time student of Zen and T'ai Chi and is interested in traditional healing practices and sacred dance.  His wilderness experience includes backpacking, mountaineering, and river-running. He lives with his wife in a zone of ponderosa and sage woodland along the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains by a tributary of the South Platte River. They have a son in college.
