Chris Hoffman is an ecopsychologist, counselor, consultant and poet. He has facilitated human development in business, educational, and therapeutic settings for over 25 years and is an experienced workshop leader.    

In recent years Chris has served as a senior organizational development consultant in a Fortune 500 company, with special interests in sustainability, organizational change, strategic planning, conflict resolution, and coaching.  He has taught ecopsychology at Naropa University and has delivered many workshops and presentations on psychology and The Hoop and the Tree.   

        Chris’s professional publications include articles on ecopsychology, counseling, consulting and sociometry.   He is the author of a book of poetry, Cairns (Windstorm Creative, 2005).  His poetry has also appeared in several chapbooks and magazines including Appalachia, The Christian Science Monitor, EarthLight, and Sea-Kayaker, and in the anthologies The Soul Unearthed and EarthLight: Spiritual Wisdom for an Ecological Age. He enjoys performing his work both solo and in jazz and dance collaborations.   The world-beat band Monkey Siren has recorded Chris’ lyrics on two CD’s.

A graduate of Yale University, Chris also holds a Masters degree in Community Mental Health (Northeastern University, Boston) and an M.B.A. (University of Colorado, Boulder) as well as a certificate in acupressure massage.  He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado.

Chris is a long-time student of Zen and T'ai Chi and has taught T'ai Chi at a senior center in Denver.  He has studied healing practices in several traditional lineages and sacred dance with the Earth Song Sacred Dance Community.  His wilderness experience includes backpacking, mountaineering, and white water river rafting.  He lives with his wife and son in a zone of ponderosa and sage woodland along the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains by a tributary of the South Platte River.
